Welcome to Spring Quarter!
Last quarter Students in the Basic and Transitional Studies Division Cultural Club worked hard to organize the first ever graduation celebration for ESL students exiting our program! The club plans to organize another graduation celebration again next quarter and hopes to make this an ongoing tradition in our division.
Last quarter the tutoring office also released the fourth issue of Community Central, the BTSD tutoring program newsletter, which contained lots of great writing from students a tutors. A more detailed description of the graduation celebration will appear in next quarter’s issue of Community Central along with lots more student writing.
Spring Quarter is now just around the corner! This quarter we will be looking for volunteers to help out in the newly revived Talk Time conversation group, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:00. If you are interested in helping out in Talk Time, please talk to Peter!
This quarter will also include more training opportunities for volunteers, starting with the Community Volunteer Training provided by Goodwill at their Job Training and Education Center on Saturday April 2nd. More information about future trainings will be available later in the quarter.
